Posted By GB Dear rob MHSWR Reg5 requires 'monitoring' and 'review' but does not (I believe) mention 'audit' unfortunately. Within the ACoP (L21) I think it states monitoring should include 'measuring' with routine inspections and checks. Regards Gary

Posted By Jay Joshi It is a requirement of Regulation 5 of the Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, (Health and Safety Arrangements) but there is more detail in the ACoP and Guidance. Employers must have arrangements for the effective planning, organisation, control, monitoring and review of the preventive and protective measures, but and yes it is a big but, the arrangements being appropriate, with regard to the nature of the activities and the size of the undertaking. It does not use the term audit and review, but uses the terms monitor and review! Refer to page 18 at:- http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/priced/l21.pdf
