Having posted a thread seeking employment in the 'Careers Forum', why have IOSH blocked it within several hours?
If there was ever any hope that you may put yourself forward as a future candidate to employers then surely this would be place.
Please explain.

you're not the only only one it has happened to. it is just the way it works in this forum. Make sure that you e-mail address is activated so that potential employers can still contact you.

It is very frustrating considering that I am a paying member of IOSH and unemployed and job seeking!

IOSH are allowing you to advertise your services on their forum, so I fail to see why you are upset.

Jon,
As I understand it, the thread has your original mail remaining for people to view your self advert for work, but all other correspondence then goes to your pm service through your "posted by" sign in name.
This sign in needs to be set to "live" so that you can then receive any mails coming in.

John, this comes up over and over again.
The heading to the forum is:
"If indicating your availability for work, please ensure your email address is visible. All responses should then be sent privately by email."
You have made your e-mail address visible, so people who can help you can indeed send you a private e-mail.
Locking the thread in no way prevents this, but it does prevent people adding advertisements to your thread.
In short, your thread is not in any way made less effective in finding you a job.
