Posted By Jimmy Greaves Just read the article in this months SHP re: the above. The survey was carried out in April of this year so what do H&S people think nearly six months on? Personally, I see a lot more negatives now than earlier in the year. Good to put a positive spin on our industry whenever we can as 'we' all seem to get a lot of negaitves whether from employers, workers, industry or the media but realistically I don't think its that good now. I also believe that when 'cuts' are administered, either financial or in terms of employees, it is my experience that employers, having seen that they can probably 'manage' for a preiod of time are very reticent in returning to previous manning and pay levels. So, my second question is how long before 'we' and our industry recover or return to better times? Impossibe to answer I guess.... and I suppose surveys are only a snapshot in time, bit like an MOT test... good on the day but.....
