Hi all,
After so many months of different applications I have just been short listed for an interview in a major pharmaceutical company in uk. The role is HSE adviser for the company which I presume falls under process safety.
I will be glad if anyone can assist me with the likely interview questions for an health and safety roles. I have actually been working as a junior environmental consultant for one of the local authorities in UK, though I have a nebosh certificate I have never practice in an health and safety role.
I will appreciate any assistance.

in some ways its much easier that an LA as you do not have day to day issues with the general public
evaluate the info you have been given re the role e.g. person description, job description etc and go from there as the role will not expect you be fully competent as your experience etc will have been explained in your application - ask questions of the person to whom you will be reporting or to a similar post elsewhere
If they are expecting you to be fully competent re process plants after they have evaluated your application then all I can say is ?!?!
best of luck

I wouldn't presume ... They may employ process safety specialists and want something different from you. I suggest find out first just what the role is!

Congratulations, this will hopefully lead you on to better and bigger things in the future.
I do remember, passing my Gen cert in 96, then employed as a QA Eng, after 6months with my then employer (small eng/fab co.), realised that to further myself, had to move on. Took a Temp role as a H&S Specialist with a semiconductor manufacturer (lasted 13months), what an education that was, and it stood me in very good stead. Best move I ever did taking that temp role. Now some 13 years later, Senior management with an Eng/Fab company (how ironic), and earning much more than I dreamed of.
It will happen to you, just make sure you learn, ask questions, soak everything in...............!
Good Luck
