Electrical testing on street furniture or street located equipment

We manufacture and service parking meters, pay and display, which are on and off street. My question is should our service engineers be undertaking electrical testing during servicing? I am concerned about our duty of care to the engineers and public but it is our customers supply and connection. We do not undertake any of the electrical works.
Regards
Ian

the electrics are as important as other factors so any servicing etc would be suitable and sufficient for all areas not just mechanical - its all down to R-assessment, the law and your own guides as the manufacturer but I would not want to walk away from kit in a public area thinking that the electrics may be a hazard
