Could anyone direct me to a good source of guidance which refers to 'Lighting Levels (Lux)' in sports halls. The hall is used for a variety of indoor sports at recreational / low level (no high level competition or televised events), main users include general public and local schools. I have researched the net and been provided with an abundance of information, but the main documentations all require the purchase of books (which i don't need). Grateful in advance.

The CIBSE Lighting Guide is much better but I don't know if it is available online.

Thanks, i have got some information from the CIBSE Code on Lighting 2002 which has been useful. There is a wide range of guidance form various sources, one of the main problems is they all fluctuate on levels.
Thanks again for you help.

What your looking for if you have not already found it is:
CIBSE LG4 1990 section 1.4.1, multi purpose facilities, indoor sports halls
and section 4.1.7 "lighting for non sporting events" although it refers to the code for interior lighting.
There is a 2006 CIBSE LG4 Sports, however in a brief glance I could see any specific lighting levels in that, though I probably missed them.
