Posted By Simon Walsh. I am seeking help in finding a suitable training course/provider who can offer CDM training for a CDM Co-ordinator role for a large landscaping and garden design company. The company is engaged in carrying out landscaping and planting on large sites, such as estates and public parks and as such much of their work would come into the scope of CDM Regulations. The Company wishes to improve their knowledge inhouse to manage this issue and would like to provide training to their staff. It is felt that a short introduction style course is not sufficient, can anyone help with courses or providers please that may suit?

Posted By Bob Youel Irrespective of the CDM regs -and much of this type of work falls outside the scope of CDM - you should have a H&S management system already in place and if it is suitable and sufficient that system would surfice with a few tweaks e.g adding in an explanation area re the CDM roles and the duties that are present and the various parts e.g. welfare security etc, noting that the need to provide adequate welfare etc is covered by other law which such landscapes companies should already adhere to and is not special to CDM! I undertake this type of 'update' all the time for such companies and those who have good systems already need very few changes All that said; the client and PC can impose additional standards / specific rules to which you must adhere and account for in your management system
