Posted By Ucan I have just read that employees who are ill during scheduled annual leave can subsequently claim their time back from their employers, following a judgment by the European Court of Justice. A period of sickness while on holiday does not count towards the minimum period of paid annual leave under the Working Time Directive. Paid annual leave is designed to enable workers to rest and enjoy a period of relaxation and leisure, sick leave is to give the worker time to recover..... Hmmmm this could be open to abuse................

Posted By Peter F. As far as I am aware this has a;ways been the case. You can be on holiday when you are sick, but can't be sick on holiday. This has been dealt with in an earlier thread some weeks ago.
