Posted By Barry Bruce I am about to embark on a near miss reporing campaign and want use posters as part of the roll-out of the new system. I have had a look on the net for posters but the ones I have only found one poster but its pretty drab and dreary - the design looks so old and boring. Has anyone found or know of any 'exciting' posters or leaflets? Any suggestions for the campaign would be helpful too. Cheers

Posted By Luke. Barry, Not leaflets or posters, but one site i was on recently had put up a near-miss box which encouraged operatives on site to report (obviously)near misses & unsafe practices. Each week 1 persons card was selected at random and they won a free breakfast and for every card that was put into the box £1 was donated to charity. It has worked REALLY well.

Posted By Kate Graham Do you have any good examples from your site illustrating the value of reporting near-misses that could be made into a poster? I had an example where someone tripped and was quite badly hurt, following which colleagues were lining up to say "Oh yes, we're always tripping over at that spot".

Posted By Barry Bruce Thanks Sean - will check it when I get home, Hotmail is banned at my site. Good idea Kate - but we have a terrible record of reporting Near Miss incidents - 13 for the year, some of which we gripes at management. Something to consider for the future when we start getting reports.

Posted By Kate Graham Barry, I guessed you didn't have good positive examples of near-miss reports resulting in improvements, and that was really the point of my example - an accident that could have been prevented if only the previous near-misses had been reported.
