Hi,
Seeing as noone else has responded, and if it's any use, MSDS usually stands for 'Material Safety Data Sheet' (A supplier should be able to supply one with any hazardous substance purchased, they are often used to assist with development of COSHH Risk Assessments), so I imagine the term refers to a longer version of one of those. I couldn't tell you if an 'Extended MSDS' is a recognised type of document though, nor if there might be specific extra sections over and above the standard 16 that the CHIP regs specify.
Hope this helps, & hopefully some more knowledgeable person can elaborate further.

Cat,
As Kay correctly gave its basically to do with coshh but reach needs an extra two paras on the MSDS to indicate whether it has been banned as a substance or a SVHC.

Also the new GHS or modified CHIP as it will be has to taken into account on these extended MSDS's.
So overall you have a few years wait (poss 2015) before it all falls into place.

Try this, one of the outcomes of REACH will be new improved "extended" Material SAfety Data Sheets with information on how the substance can/should be used.
