Morning All, Not the best topic to start the day with, but has anybody got a Risk Assessment for clearing up Fox Excrement that they could send to me. I will try the RSPCA but it's a tad early for them at the moment Mr Fox has found his way onto our exceptionally busy construction site and is leaving his calling card in various places. Thanks

You sure its fox - (taste test is best) If you pick it up it will re-mark -basically you have moved in not the fox! It is simply repainting its garden fence. Either that or you may have an active earth on site and need to watch the plant activities. Try local wildlife groups (that might be me for the SEast) as we have volunteers that may be willing to give advice and survey for you - usually free. They should also be able to disitingush between dog, badger and fox. I rescued a cygnet fro the A5 yesterday it thanked me with green pooh everywhere. I was at work, in the Whistle & flute (light coloured of course). I am now traumatised, and smelly, can I sue? I hear HM is the irresponsible owner so it could be big 'Bucks'! Cygnet Steve

Morgan - its a fox, its his job to get in and he is very competent at it....! Agree with you about the waste and this might be indicative of other hazards and pests (Ratty especially) which are not so pleasant to come across and cause damage etc so waste management might be the key to success here. sly ol' Steve

How do foxes demonstate their competence? Surely they should have appropriate training and other skills as well?

They went through the NVQ (Nippy and Very Quick) route and applied grandfather rights ..... Anyway if you have ever seen fox cubs and their mum you will know they are home ejucated and may not be able to spel but cerainally no ho to steal. Having no opposing thumb this makes them incompetent authors and illiterate, but experts in their own right of stealing. Q. Does 'competence' require training or a training needs analysis? Surely being a competent fox is a self-evident staus. The incompetent ones starve or get squished by cars.

I found that one of those electronic fox deterrents you can get from a garden centre work. You might need more than one on a big site however, and there is a chance of them being nicked.

Really Smurf that was quite shocking reply .... the foxes will get round them in the end and humans will then pull the plug. Badger
