I would be interested to know how others deal with this, in regard to a working/falling from height perspective? The complete operation has been fully risk assessed to a conclusion that it's either stepladders that allow the 3 points of contact, with assistance , or we don't fit them & risk machine damage.
Any sensible or otherwise suggestions welcome.

Andy

Have you sought the advice of both the excavator manufacturer and the guard manufacturer [if different]?
They should be able to advise.

Alan & Declan,
The excavator manufacturers aviod the issue as the guards are a retro fit & therefore not manufactured of fitted by them & the guard manufacturers "only make the guards"
With regard to a gantry system etc, the site is spread over 14 miles with over 100 machines so this would unfortunately be impracticle.
But keep the suggestions coming, much appreciated.
Regards
Andy

As you are talking about buying 100 units - I'd talk to other cab guard suppliers to see if any others are more helpful.
