Hi all,
If you dont directly employ more than 5 people but, hire in contractors/subcontractors is an in depth SHE Policy required?
Many Thanks.

Paul - no i don't believe that you do. I think that the wording is generally accepted as referring to 'directly employed' employees - if that makes any sense?

I think the previous post is strictly correct but it is against the spirit of the legislation.

you need to be sure what you mean re 'hire in' as if you 'hire in' a subbie etc but then 'control' all that they do & / or all their work is for you; you could be seen as their 'employer' under a number of laws
