Has any member of the forum experience of using these devices to monitor the well being of lone workers out of hours. If anyone has it would be good if you could share your exxperiences. Thanks Beth

We've looked into them, but they are very expensive and you would need to be able to justify that against the benefit. For people in very high risk occupations, such as family services, bulk cash handling, some types of courier work, they are worthwhile, John

We have spent quite a lot of time looking at them, had the demo and are preparing to trial. They have a number of advantages to our current system, one of them being that they are very 'shareable' between a large number of users, so they can be easily shared by many users who can assign the unit to themselves, with their own individual information, escalation procedure etc etc simply by assigning the unit to themselves using a simple web interface. In this way they can be made pretty cost effective and I think will be invaluable for some of our staff.
