We have both propane and butane gases in use in our workshops in each case the gas is supplied from a gas bottle fitted with a regulator and flame arrestor. Is there a testing regime/scheme for flame arrestors?

John, Yes there is, as I understand, your gas provider can help with that. IIRC, it is annual or 5 yearly servicing/replacement. BOC can certainly do this if you have their kit, IIRC if you take the parts to your local centre the checks are foc? Try the BCGA code of practice 7 Here: http://www.bcga.co.uk/pr...w/products.php?g1=3ff921 I have not seen it as it is £40 more than I can afford! HTH Paul.

John, HSG 158 might give you some guidance. http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/priced/hsg158.pdf
