Hi,
I just wanted to get some other people's opinons on this.
We currently have scaffolding racking installed on some of our sites which we store vehicles on. I've been making enquiries about scaffold inspection training we can send some of our employees on to ensure that the scaffolding is regularly inspected and safe.
One company I spoke to advised that other than getting a structural check done every 6 months by an outside scaffolding company there is no training we can (or need) to give our employees. This is apparently because it a support scaffold and not a working platform scaffold. And only working platform scaffolding qualifies for the 7 day check. (i.e .has boards and rails for people to work of - which ours does not have).
This company seemed pretty clued up, so i'm not disputing what they say, but i'd like to know if anyone else can offer us any guidance on this topic, and in particular if we should be regularly inspecting it, how often? by whom? and what sort of training is should we be giving??
Thanks in advance. J
