A question please.
My company has been involved in repair, maintenance and modifications of LEV systems in wood working environments for a while. We don't do design or manufacture, we buy in the parts and the system mods are designed by others. We also sub-out the testing and certification for COSHH. So at the moment we just do the implementation. We are getting a lot more enquires for the testing to be lumped in with our other works at our customers, a lot of which is other than extraction mods. Not yet the manufacture, and I think that the design will come with competence and experience, though, it may pay to leave that with our current provided as they are geared up for the design & manuf.
I would look at getting people trained up, me to start with! As I have had previous experience of the actual modifications work, knowledge of fluid flow principles from my engineering degree, and I have shadowed our current provided on a few tests. I was looking at the BOHS P601 & 602 courses. My question is any one have any experience of these courses, and any recommendations or otherwise for training providers. (PM if you wish by all means.) The more local the better to save on accommodation if possible! (S Wales)
Thanks very much, Paul

Paul, I attended a BOHS presentation on this subject written by Bill Cassells. Although I haven't been on his course, I am impressed by his material. His website is http://www.oxyl8.com/There are another couple of providers, but I believe that uptake has been very poor by the industry; hence the number of courses/venues has been reduced. Regards, Ross
