Is there a need for another awarding body in our industry providing HACCP, Food Safety, and basic H & S. HABC seem to think so. I would have thought that we have enough in the UK with CIEH, REHIS, British Safety Council, NEBOSH, IOSH. Thoughts anyone?

Provided the qualifications they award are properly accredited and approved against a National Framework and that those delivering them are competent to do so I can't see any problem with this. Surely we should be glad that there are providers out there who are delivering basic H&S to our workforce and increasing the overall standard of knowledge across the coutnry shouldn't we?

Heather, I feel that we need to be careful when comparing their ‘ENTO’ Level Three award in ‘Supervising Health and Safety in the Workplace against the ‘NQF’ Level Three NEBOSH General Certificate. The time scale for completing the HABC course is considerably shorter than NEBOSH one and the examination process is completely different.
