In my previous life I was a DGSA, but do not have the books etc to hand.
I have just been told we are planning to send promotional balloons (deflated) to clients in a box with a container of Helium UN1046 for them to inflate the balloons on site.
Can anyone let me know can these be sent on normal carrier under the LQ exemptions and what labelling is required on the individual box i.e. diamond with UN1046
For LQ what is the individual container size allowed and what is the aggregated quantity allowed on any one vehicle.
Need any replies by close of play
Thanks
Ian

Thanks Alan
Will do,but they are not normally associated with ADR carriage. Worth a try though.

Hi,
They can be sent under the LQ provision, they come under LQ1 which allows up to 120ml per inner package, the label should be a diamond with the UN number. Helium is transport category 3 so you could carry up to 1000 Litres before it would be an ADR load.
I hope this helps.

Thanks Julie
Very much appriciated
If the containers are more than 120ml I am presuming that we fall out of the LQ exemptions
