I'm having to consider alternative arrangements for receiving deliveries at a number of locations because the door next to the goods in roller shutter will be used as a customer entrance. Our deliveries come in rollcages and are removed from the lorry by tail-lift. One of my options is to put a 1mtr cubed block of concrete in the way to prevent the lorry backing up to the door. Does anyone know of anybody who makes and delivers these?

Hi Safety. Erect a crash barrier to protect people who use the door and extend it so it takes people away from the danger area. Glass in the door so people can see vehicles reversing or a flashing light system to when driver hands over the paper work and gets permission to drive up the light must be on? David

Way too small scale for that. We occupy small industrial units. My main concern is that the door opens out into an exlusion zone we impose on our staff whilst the tail-lift is in operation. I'm more worried about customers being struck by roll cages coming off of the tail lift than I am about them being run over. That's not to say I'm not worried about them getting run over, its just the customer is less likely to see the risk in the tail lift operation and therefore will be less concerned for their own safety.
