We are refusing to accept an acclaimed accident at work resulting in a minor injury, basically because it was claimed that it happened on the Sunday (overtime working), but was not reported until the Wednesday night.
Obviously we are not accepting the injury as it was reported late and there were no witnesses a. Are we in our rights to refuse the entry into our accident book?

We had one employee who took two months after reporting an accident to actually fill in an accident form, even though we requested the employee to fill one in immediately. Unfortunately now turned into long term sick leave and a claim, although we think the person concerned is now working elsewhere and is trying it on, our insurers are more than likely going to settle even though the info they gave to the solicitor is different than the info they gave to us and have also shown on accident form...
