Does anyone else constantly get requests for SDSs for materials that are not hazardous for supply under CHIP? I usually email back to the effect not hazardous for supply under CHIP but often get the response well in that case the safety coordinator will not allow it on site! We have prepared some supposed SDSs that say not haz 16 times over but it is getting silly now. I was asked for an SDS for a plastic extrusion on the grounds that someone could get poked in the eye??????

Unfortunately this is often the product of a 'tick box' approach. Once you have such a system the requirement to engage brain no longer applies.

I am being pushed by a visitor to produce a boiler emission report for a building that doesn't have one.

Is it a "substance" or an "article" you are supplying?
