Looking for reference material on the does and don'ts of sprinkler installs near electrical switchrooms including fire water supply pipes penetrating through switchrooms, to other areas of building.

Hi, Agree with last post you need the appropriate standard, most city libraries will keep them instead of buying because they aren't cheap; as I understand it sprinkler protection should not be provided in an area where the water discharge may present a hazard. Switchgear rooms/transformer rooms/compartments etc should have 2 hr fire resistance walls, ceiling and floor with doors at least 1 hr fire resitance if not sprinkler protected. Cheers Steve

Not sure if this might be of interest but for switch rooms and through wall installations, this system may be preferable to sprinklers. http://www.aqua-mist.co.uk/index.htmTubing is plastic and less water used to extinguish fires must be better for use near electricity. Heard about it on a training course today and it certainly looks the biz.
