Hi All
My company have just ordered some new self contained oxidizer stores. The stores are large walk in stores with a single steel skin and a bunded sump. Space on site is tight and we are currently looking at positions for the new stores.
How far from the site boundry would the stores need to be placed and how far from other buildings?

I have looked at Hsg71 and Hsg51 but cannot find a definitive answer.
I would appreciate any help with this.

Thank you.

The distance from boundrys, occupied buildings and ignition sources in HSG 51 for flammable liquids is

Quantity Stored (l) Separation distance (m)
<1,000 2
>1,000, <100,000 4
>100,000, <300,000 7.5
You will already be aware of this but I have not seen similar for oxidisers

I would discuss this installation with my local Fire Brigade Fire Safety Office, I am sure the brigade teams would also appreciate a familiarisation visit so they know what they are dealing with in the event of a 999 call
