We are thinking of doing a number of events in the work place to raise money for Sports Relief.
Events such as:
1. A sale of home made cakes and biscuits
2. A Wii challenge - games of ten pin bowling on the large screen.
Has anyone had any repercussions or h&S problems from such events in the past i.e liability claims

Are we not allowed to have fun anymore? I picked my nose this morning without doing a risk assessment, should I log a complaint?
Apologies this is not aimed at you mungry but our country's successful crossing over to blame and claim culture, which makes the good will of individuals like yourself doubt themselves for fear of litigation. Call me a dinosaur but I like the good old days where you could actually do things for the good of others without fear of recrimination.
Not that it answers the question but I was listening to Talksport a month or two ago and listened to an organisation (it might have been a fire brigade) who had provided free home made cakes once a year to a care home for the past 25 years or so but they had been told they could no longer do it on H&S grounds. Needless to say that once the decision came to air on national radio the decision was overturned.

Have done both these activities - and more - without any problems so far.
Just simple precautions (Ingredients list for cakes, PA Test for electrics etc)
