Good morning We have been looking at the lux level in our factory & Warehouse, and believe it to be quite low. Before we upgrade our lighting, does anyone know if there are any legal limits for lux?? Thanks for any help you can give

No legal limits, but CIBSE guidance suggests 150-200 Lux
It depends on the work being carried out - the more detailed the work, the higher the levels will need to be.

Occupational Health (Harrington, Gill, Aw, Gardiner, ISBN 0-632-04832-8) mentions the Code for Interior Lighting, published by the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers, and suggests the following: Circulation areas, e.g. corridors, stairs, lifts - 100-150 lx Entrances, lobbies, waiting areas - 150 lx Enquiry desks - 500 lx Factories - 300 - 500 lx - depending upon the degree of detail to be viewed Offices - general at desk - 500 lx Offices - drawing boards - 750 lx TYpical outdoor levels - 10,000 lx
I know that this doesn't specifically give recommendations for warehousing, but personally I would be looking for the lower factory level.
