Quote "Course Approval Officer Our client is one of the largest professional Health and Safety organisations in the UK."
Having seen this position listed with a recruitment agency, I carefully studied the skills / experience required for the role:
Quote "To be considered for this role you will need to hold a NEBOSH certificate as well as 5 plus GCSEs or equivalent this must include English & Maths. The ideal candidate will need to have trained or tutored before in previous roles."
Fantastic methinks, just what I am looking for, got 5 cse's (showing my age), NEBOSH certificate, CIEH Professional Trainer Certificate, involved in training, and recently completed PTLLS.
Imagine how I felt when I read the following:
Quote "Following your recent application for the position of Course Approval Officer. I am writing to let you know that unfortunately you have not been successful this time. I will keep your details on file and be in touch when a more suitable position arises."
Nothing in the response indicates why I was not considered suitable, the qualifications and experience were clearly set out in the CV.
So what I wonder, is a more suitable position? or is it simply that I am considered past it by many recruiters by virtue of my age (over 45).
Has anyone else had similarly poor customer service from recruitment agencies?

I am not saying that it has happened in this case but some agencies sometimes use 'trawl' methods to capture CV's so take note
