Good Morning all I would be grateful if anyone could help me put together a COSHH risk assessment for a new production process that I haven't come across before. The process routers and cuts out sections of fibreglass compossit doors, though an extraction unit will be operating I invisage a moderate amount of fibreglass dust to excape into the air around the machine and therefore into an area where there are other people working. Any information will be gratefully recieved. thanks in advance Mark

We undertake a process in a woodmachine shop where fibreglass panels are cut on a vertical panel saw. The product is supplied with a safety data sheet and the controls in place are the LEV dust extraction system which is maintained, serviced and COSHH certified. Over and above that the machine operator chooses to wear RPE whilst cutting this product, although we have undertake personal dust monitoring which showed that we are well below the WEL. If you have an extraction system which is designed to operate in the conditions you have, and is maintained and serviced by competent persons, you shouldn't really have an issue.
