I am doing my final project for my BSc and need some feedback and thoughts from anyone who can help.

Basically what my project entails is offshore rigging and lifting operations including scaffolding.

The project is about removal of coolers which are around 21ft long and 3ft wide and way around 6ton.

They are in a area where there is not a lot of room and the scaffolding that has to be erected is a design scaffold which takes up the whole area restricting access etc, and entails about 10 to 14 days erection.

The scaffolding has to be manually handled up about 4 flights of stairs as it cannot be lifted over live plant via crane, this poses a maual handling and dropped objects situation.

My solution was to come up with a steel frame configuration that could be bolted togethere and stored in this area when not erected.

The feedback I am looking for is what would be the design issues, cost etc and the advantages over the scaffolding.

If any structuaral engineers or lifting engineers can help with any input or anyone else for that matter please email me at;

STEVEN.TODD2@ntlworld.com please note my name has to be in upper case.

Thanks to anyone helps.
