Hi Guys

I have been the Group H&S Manager for a company which owns other companies i.e. that’s were the group comes in. We have re branded and brought all the companies under one name and as such the word Group is to be dropped from all job titles.
We have other H&S Managers within the business, I have been asked to come up with a name for my role, which differentiates this role which has responsibilities for all sites, from the other H&S managers without using the Group any ideas!

I'd agree with Corporate - says the same as Group without using the G word.

I guess that, due to politics, you may not be officially 'above' the other safety managers...?

If that is the case, than maybe something like Central H&S Manager, Health and Safety Policy Manager might suffice? Hard to comment without knowing your role specifically.

Good point...what influence do you have over the groups strategy? Do the other safety managers report to you? Are you responsible for developing the groups H&S policies?

Thanks guys some good suggestions here, I would prefer to keep my title but this is not an option

I do create / write all the policies for the company and the other H&S manager report to the Site GM but have the dreaded dotted line into me.

Would like to here some more suggestions or a consensus on the suggestions already made

Thanks

A few further suggestions:

UK H & S Manager

Lead H & S Manager

National H & S Manager

If it was me the preferred would be Corporate H & S Manager as previously suggested.

Hi Guys

Thanks you for the many responses.

I don't think they will go for the Director title, I am tending towards the Corporate Health and Safety Manager as this is the nearsest to the Group Role

There must be simillar effects from the branding to other functions in the business. I would have thought that your Senior Management Team would want to see some sort of consistency in titles across each function where possible.
Look at how the other functions have handled Job Titles

Is the title 'Leader, Safety, Health & Wellbeing' too awe-full?
