Hi Guys,

Just a quick question. Powered and manually powered pallet trucks- do they require formal training course in their use and should the refresher period be 3 yearly as with countebalance and reach training?

Thanks,

The refresher period is dependent on a number of factors but that aside powered palletiser training should be given by a registered instructor on that type of equipment. The accrediting bodies do have training packages for manually operated 'pump trucks' but as to how many companies actually pay an accredited instructor to teach their staff how to use them I don't know.

As a registered in-house instructor in a previous role I tought both. But having moved onwards and upwards and the company having changed shape the use of manual pump trucks is now tought locally by branch mangement (and refreshed at least anually because all of our training is).
