Don't worry. I have read the big three politcal party manifestos and there is only one mention of H&S. The Conservatives say they will " amend H&S laws that stand in the way of common sense policing"

It's good to see they are taking a tough line on the "Peter Principle" then. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Principle Are they going to start with their friends in industry or their own peers and MP's?

I suppose the more pertinent question is why the other parties don't see it as a priority?

Hi all We've spoken to the main political parties (Conservatives, Labour, Lib Dems, Plaid Cymru, SNP, Sinn Féin and the DUP) and received their responses to five questions we asked about their health and safety policies. We chose the questions based on suggestions from readers, so we've hopefully got their ideas on some of the health and safety issues that matter to you. We’ll be publishing the responses as part of a special election issue of Connect on Monday, so keep an eye out for that. You'll also be able to vote on which answers you agree with the most, and we hope the article will generate some discussion here in the forums too. See the member news item here: http://www.iosh.co.uk/ne...ct_election_special.aspx Kind regards Lucy

The green party have put this statement on page 11 of their election manifesto. "Support unions in their roles as health and safety and environment representatives".
