Looking at the low number of responses to postings and the fact that job openings aren't allowed to be advertised, does this particular forum serve a useful purpose?

Hi ITER Was going to disagree and refer you to the Hale & Hale model topic, with over 15 replies. But then I realised it was posted in the wrong forum. ;-)

What we don't get is feedback from anyone who achieves employment via the forum. If those posting could provide an indication of any successes we might build a better picture.

ITER, what you do not see is any private responses to posters via the pm facility. There have also been many examples of where people have posted back that they have been successful in finding a job either through direct contact or by using the advice given freely on this forum. OK so we are not allowed to use it as a job advert centre but it still has a lot of worth to many I would suggest. You can put yourself out there and receive free advice and sometimes job offers as a result, P48

Got to admit that I don't post a lot on here but I do read most of the posts and find them interesting and often bring up subjects that I think are useful IMHO. Paul.

I got my first job (and what a very important stepping stone it was too) from the old forums. I posted a mini CV and a specific request for employment and the rest is history. I was contacted direct too! The idea of having to privately contact the poster is so that agencies don't spam the forums as we have seen before. I think it has its place. Regards Adam
