Hi new member first question !!!
We have recently sent some engineers on a scaffolding course they have now came back and advised that only people that have this certificate can use the mobile scaffolding, I know you need to hold a certificate to errect the mobile scaffolding but was not aware you need this to use the equipment ?
I am putting our guys through this course but am struggling to find where it states this fact ?

Whilst attending a PASMA workshop a few months ago, i actually brought up this question to one of the head guys from that organisation. I asked although they are not allowed to assemble, dismantle, move or alter a mobile scaffold tower, how can you be satisified a 'user without training' would be aware of the limitations of the tower?
Would they be aware of the danger of not closing the trap door after him?
Would they be aware of the risk of the tower falling over if he didn't observe the maximum side loading?
Would they be aware of when to stop using it due to wind speed?
PASMA admitted this is something they are looking at. In the meantime, maybe it's worth having a certificated engineer working with or supervising the ones who haven't been trained on towers.
