An engineering company services pumps often found in pits, often found in fields, car parks etc. These are pulled up by chains and lifted out for maintenance. Where possible restraint lanyards are anchored to the wagons but one operative has queried that this "anchor point" is not tested annually (PUWER? LOLER?) and should not be used. Has anyone any information as to portable anchor points? I know that there are some for use on roofs but they generally have the caveat that they must be used on dry surfaces which appears to rule out grass etc. Given that the purpose is to decrease the risk and hold the person should they misbalance, would a grass screw be sufficient? I also think that linked barriers around the opening may be sufficient. Comments appreciated

I believe a company called Checkmate do an anchor point that is effectively a bladder that you fill with water. This is what you attach your harness to. When finished you just let the water out and carry the bladder away. It can be used on roofs or isolated spots, not sure about grass though. It may be worth giving them a call. (ps I do not work for the company, just use some of their products)
