Hi Folks,
I'm looking for some help locating a form of PPE which will provide the necessary head and eye protection. The work being carried out is inside a boiler removing clinker from the pendants.
The environment is horrible at best, hot, dusty, confined space. On top of this the client has certain time expectations as they loose a lot of money per day for each boiler done....
Basically I'm looking for something like a shot blasting helmet, air fed with a tight kneck coller but it also needs to provide a good range of vision and suitable head protection.
Goggles and a hard hat are not suitable for the job, I have suggested watering the area down more but trying to convince the client to loose another £250K is hard!
any help would be appreciated
Andy

Sorry folks,
to give you a bit more detail we are trialing the following mask / goggle combo:
The filterspec PRO goggle/mask combo from JSP
Just follow the link-
http://www.jsp.co.uk/vie...9-4cc8-a1ac-b8564b3f81bb
The masks fit well with normal hard hat, so the head protection is covered as normal, the advantages are that the google and masks are a one piece set.
cheers

Can I ask; Have you personally undertaken such work yourself as having undertaken this type of work myself in the past I would get rid of the hard hat as anybody having done such work will tell you HH's get in the way: A very small tight bump hat / climbers hat or similar is all that is needed in most cases
