Howdy folks,

I am a Safety Advisor working in the mining/construction industry in Western Australia and have lurked around this forum for quite a while now - I've always found it fairly interesting and have gleaned some good information from it.

Now, what I'm looking for is some case law examples that I can quote in a presentation I am developing for our personnel aimed at improving the quality of the personal/dynamic risk assessment tools we use. One of the ways I have always used in the past to bring people on board is good old scare tactics - Show them where something like this has been used, or could have been used, as evidence in a court case. Something about "you could lose your house" seems to be a bit more effective than just "you could get hurt" (especially in this litigation/compensation society where half the people seem to believe that if they hurt themselves then they will be set for life on the payout).

Could anybody point me in the direction of some case examples I could reference (UK, Australia, US, wherever..) in my presentation to help provide some of the weight I am looking for?

Cheers in advance and G'day from WA! :)
