Hi,
Can someone clarify for me if a client has commissioned a type 3 survey for example in Jan, can the survey now be used in a project or does it have to be revisited to ensure it complies with the new 'Asbestos The Survey Guide' and are assurances required by the surveyor that it meets the requirements?

Also what is the exact date that the new regs came into force.

Thanks

The existing Survey Report should be valid.
The terminology and other changes (mainly in application to domestic property) were brought about by a change of Guidance, not Law. I'm sure we'll have people referring to Type 2/3 (as opposed to "management" and "refurb./demolition") for many years to come!

Hi Bod.

HSG264 is guidance, not regulation and was published at the end of January.

UKAS issued guidance to labs regarding implementing HSG264:

All labs should be using it now really, though they have until the 30th July to implement it at the latest.

Your survey report should be fine, though it is still up to you to ensure it is fit for purpose - no unacceptable caveats, unaccessed areas etc.
