Hi all,

Wondering if I could have your views as to whether the following is reportable:

Artex Texturing on the ceilings on a communal area with sky light windows. Rain water had damaged the artex, by which i mean there is little peeling of the artex (nothing substantial) still in tact but hanging here and there. We are talking 3 -4 peels in different parts of the ceiling of about 15cm max.

Artex is confirmed as containing Chrysotile (2-15%).

Contractors replaced the skylights and undertook roofing work. They did not further disturb any of the artex.

Artex is Non licenced work anyway, I am of the opinion it's not reportable.

Can I have your views please.

Thanks in advance.

A

The works are not reportable, but any removal/remedial should take place in accordance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations. I always prefer to use licenced contractors, as they are used to working with ACM's.

Refer to HSE which have task guidance for unlicenced work.
