I'm looking for any information ref the legal requirements for the siting (closeness) of an occupied portacabin to a bulk LPG installation, i.e. separation distance. Anyone got any info on this?

Hello Paul,
log on to the websites of any of the major LPG distributors, there's information available there that will help you.
The siting distance between LPG vessels and buildings (even 'temporary' ones) varies with the size of the storage tank, a download from the above will give you the answer.

Separation distances are noted in the LPGA code of practice and depend on the storage capacity of the tank.

The BCGA is for compressed gases, the relevant organisation for liquefied petroleum gases is UKLPG, formerly the LPGA, but the CoP's are not downloadable whereas the info from the suppliers is available to download.
