Hi, I'm new to food industry and i'm looking for some information regarding the required standards for design and safety features of ammonia refridgrant plant. I could not find anything relevant when searching google, I just found MSDSs and some accident info. Would anyone have any information or point me in the right direction for ammonia plant guidance information, HSE requirements, etc?? Thanks very much

Note that PM 81 is a bit out of date. HSE are planning to post some up-dated guidance on their websitre but I don't think they've done it yet. The BMPA has some short guidance in its health and safety guides for the meat industry - http://www.bmpa.uk.com/_...ts/Resources/971_S4.pdf. It refers to a code of practice from the Institute of Refrigeration http://www.ior.org.uk/io...ion.php?pubid=STEXMVZ5AJ
