My company is a process design company, we have won a contract where we will be P.C. my question is will we need to be on site from start to finish? or even at all? We will be sub contracting out the majority of the installation work. I am arguing with management that we should have a presence on site from the start, your views please? Paul.

Hi Paul, I'd suggest that you should have a presence on site at all times when work is being undertaken. How else would your company be able to demonstrate it is complying with it's duty to manage under Reg 22 of CDM? Can I suggest having a look at the CDM ACoP, L144 - specifically the sections on duties of the Principal Contractor, to strengthen your argument with your management. What does the CDM Co-ordinator think of your management's idea? Hope that helps? Alex
