Hi, I am currently finalising our SMS for 18001 gap analysis visit and am currently looking into a suitable general COSHH procedure for our operatives to follow. This is so far has been based solely on the guidance but I was wondering if anyone had any good advice on coshh risk assessment software out there that may help with the assessment process or had any general coshh ra templates to share? We are a SME which does not deal with any hard to identify chemical hazards rather just paints, varnishes and cleaning chemicals and associated sundries. There is a Joiners workshop used for general maintenance from time to time rather than constant manufacturing. This facility is new and has been fitted with suitable LEV to deal with dust. LEV has also been intalled into a localised shielded welding bay located within a large well ventilated workshop. We have uptodate safety data sheets for everything and plenty of experience in safe working practices so just looking at ways of softing the burdern of excessive admin. Hazardous waste can be a consideration but this is predominately dealt with by an external sepa approved contractor as the waste does not (mainly) originate from our own operations. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers Gary

Thanks to all respondents. The templates supplied (4) will prove to be very useful. I will have a good think about which one best suit our operations. Still no comments on any electronic programmes that may be of some help - any ideas? I hear Croner may have something? Sorry for bad grammar / spelling its been a long day :( Gary

COSHH 2 - CHIP 4 (aet) Sorry Garfield, couldn't resist! Sypol is another commercial system favoured by some, not a fan myself though.
