Can anyone throw a few ideas at me for what I am trying to recall was one of the earlier management systems, pre 65 and 18001 etc - potentially derived from chems industry? Thanks

I suspect you are thinking of 'Responsible Care'? Not sure it was pre-HSG65 in UK, but possibly in Canada. Anyhow it's been updated and now provides evidence of consistency with all other relevant MS standards.
