Hi does anyone have or know where I can get a fire risk assessment template ? We have a new site that has been comissioned and due to start production, the industry is pharmaceutical. There are only small lab quantities of solvents that are stored in a fire proff cupboard. The manufacturing process is not volatile and aqueous A generic standard one would probably do but if anyone has experience in pharma industry or chemical industry that would be better

Mersey, have you tried your local fire brigades web-site, that's where we got ours from and I know other areas do them as well, bizarrely different brigades seem to have different types of assessments.

Don't want to teach any grannies to suck eggs here, but your post seems to suggest you're thinking only about process fires. Your FRA must consider elements of structure as well as the activities you are carrying out in the building. It also needs to look at the people and consider any special requirements they might have. Sorry if that's a bit obvious, John

jwk is right and he has a very good point, this suggests there is a shortage in the area of competence? Be warned that there have recently been many prosecutions of "responsible persons" for inadequate fire risk assessment. If you are looking for a template now you may never have carried out a fire risk assessment?

Mersey Did you know about these? http://www.communities.g...ons/fire/firesafetyrisk3 or this http://www.communities.g...ents/fire/pdf/144647.pdf is a particularly sensible pictorial approach which could be amplified in technical detail according to the level of risk in your premises. Horses for courses... but by understanding and being aware of these should help you make the decision as to whether it is within your capabilities or you need some help. Steve

When you say a new site do you mean new build or it is an existing building and you are new to it?
