Hello

At present I am in full time employment, my present role as a fire fighter for a company supplying a contract service to the MoD, I am looking to making a career in health and safety and that is not achievable in my present position. Because I have been with my present employer for 6 years I have to give them 6 week’s notice. As the company’s health and safety representative and a technician member of this institute I have carried out all the departments Risk, COSHH, DSE, MHO assessments and their environmental impact statements. I have been instrumental in making changes to the working environment and improved the health and safety culture.

I self funded for the NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety and because of my shift patterns undertook this as Distant Learning. I have now successfully completed this and have applied to upgrade my membership to Graduate.

I also have excellent IT skills and abilities. I’m ex-forces, having served 22 years in the Royal Air Force as a fire fighter. I am a Manual Handling Trainer and Breathing Apparatus Instructor and have been responsible for carrying out fire training for both civilian and military personnel (up to 2000 people annually at some RAF Stations).

I live in Lincoln but am willing to travel a reasonable distance as required.

If you are interested in me and wish for a copy of my latest CV please PM me.

During my military career and in my final four years of service I received 4 special recommendations on my annual appraisals (also a couple of medals). These were for:

Leadership: “First rate leader – leads from the front” Petty Officer Royal Navy (2001). “Commanding a large team consisting of UK and American Fire Fighters – Effective style of leadership” Sergeant Royal Air Force (2001). “Getting the best from his subordinates” Sergeant Royal Air Force (2003).

Managerial Competence: “Able to manage his resources with a high degree of professionalism” Petty Officer Royal Navy (2001). “Extremely effective manager, able to prioritise his workload with exceptional efficiency” Sergeant Royal Air Force (2003)

Team/Co-operation: “One of the main instigators of ensuring a close knit working environment” Petty Officer Royal Navy (2001). “His dedication in promoting good teamwork, with what is effectively a tri-national fire service, was evident from the outset.” Sergeant Royal Air Force (2001).

“His efforts towards the operation has been outstanding.” “A key figure in the detachment and was heavily relied upon by the detachment management” Flight Lieutenant Deputy Detachment Commander (2003)

To quote a few of them that is. For my present company I have also received a Certificate of Achievement for my “Outstanding Contribution” awarded by the Contract Manager (2007)
