Hi, does anyone have any good procedures etc to deal with lone workers, we have rent collectors, labourers and anti social behaviour officers who all work alone and all come into contact with the public. The business I am with currently does not have any procedures, working practices, forms etc and so a good starting point is looking at what other organisations do. Any help would be gratefully received. Thanks

Most of the local authority procedures can be accessed through a web search. I found this page as one example. http://www.gloucestershi...ndex.cfm?articleid=13054 P48

And research on the HSE website is also useful - check the links on the right hand side of the hyperlink http://www.hse.gov.uk/violence/loneworkcase.htm Martin

Hi Leah, The Healthy Working Lives Website has some good information on procedures that would be useful across a range of occupations. The link is: http://www.healthyworkin...issues/lone-working.aspx This also links to their violence and aggression website. We don't have a lone working policy, but the topic is covered in our violence and aggression policy, with specific control measures being recorded in the risk assessments as we too have a very diverse group of people carrying out lone working. If you would like a look at our policy, just P.M. me Regards, John
