I would be extremely interested in understanding how NHS colleagues are meeting “suitable and sufficient” standards with particular regard to the undertaking of the e learning packages currently on offer from the NHS Core Learning Unit (CLU).
Do you use or are you planning to use this facility and if so - is this then supplemented by further/additional training? If further training is provided in house for example what form does this take and in what subject matters eg CoSHH.
This enquiry is linked to the savings that Trusts now have to make and a balancing act is now underway to provide training in the most cost efficient way whilst still meeting our statutory obligations.

They are good tools for reinforcing already learnt training outcomes periodically.
What NHS are not too good at is monitoring the effectiveness of learnt training and reviewing the use and application to real work situations.
This will invoke some reaction I am sure... But when did the NHS Safety Advisor last visit an A&E at night to ensure safety was not being comprimised in meeting set targets for seeing patients.
I had to visit one with my son. I really had to switch off to the safety infringements, but did follow it up afterwards with the hospital manager. I won't go into details suffice to say he was very concerned with my observations...
