All, Just a quick one to pick a few brains out there. We will be undertaking a task where we will need to spray a coloured dot onto a pallet. It will be a well ventilated area (Outside), but will be undertake a couple of time a day to approximately 100 Pallets. We will be using off the shelf spray paint Any issues I should be aware of? I do not believe they should have a RPE, or am I wrong?? Is there a safer paint that can be recommended??? Thanks

Can I assume that by "off the shelf" paint you mean aerosol cans? I would recommend single-use nitrile gloves for hand protection. Even with an aerosol, spraying that number of items could easily result in hand contamination. This will also negate the need for a heavy duty hand cleanser. You will need to ensure that whoever wears the gloves had appropriate training in their correct removal. Contaminating the hands when removing gloves is a common problem and can negate the effect of the gloves. The HSE have excellent posters on their website that you can download for free. Chris

I know Rocol dp a [aint pen, no idea on size of dot though. Same would be true in terms of checking data sheet. May still need eye/hand protection.
