Do roller shutter doors come under LOLER? And if so what is the inspection period, 6 or 12 months? Regards Mike

No, michaelt, they don't come under LOLER but they must be adequately maintained.

http://www.hse.gov.uk/lau/lacs/90-4.htm The above document supports the last response... I suggest you treat as machinery/equipment under PUWER

Recently one of our inspectors was working at a port warehouse (checking bananas) and the roller door came down and missed him by inches. It turns out that the warehouse workers would “help” raise a jammed door with a FLT. In the process they managed to completely shred its gears and thing would just fall at the drop of a hat or banana. Treat the door under PUWER
